Jasa Raharja’s four TOP GRC Awards 2026 highlight Indonesia’s progress in governance, risk management, compliance, digital transformation, and public protection.

JAKARTA — PT Jasa Raharja (Persero) has received four recognitions at the TOP GRC Awards 2026, highlighting the company’s continued implementation of governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) within its business and public-service operations.

The awards were presented at the Raffles Jakarta on September 9, 2026. Jasa Raharja received the Platinum Medal, TOP GRC Awards 2026 #Star 5, The High Performing Board of Commissioners on GRC 2026, and The Most Committed GRC Leader 2026, which was presented to President Director Muhammad Awaluddin. The awards were received by Awaluddin together with Independent Commissioner Viviet Savitri Prapita S.

The recognition comes as governance frameworks across the region continue to evolve alongside digitalisation, regulatory changes, and growing expectations for transparent and accountable public services. For institutions involved in public protection, GRC is increasingly connected not only with regulatory compliance but also with operational resilience, risk awareness, service quality, and stakeholder trust.

Awaluddin said Jasa Raharja views GRC as more than a mechanism for meeting regulatory requirements. According to him, governance, risk management, and compliance need to be integrated into business processes, decision-making, and daily operations while supporting improvements in public services.

This approach is particularly relevant to the broader ASEAN context, where countries are pursuing digital transformation and more integrated public-service ecosystems while facing different regulatory and institutional environments. Cross-sector cooperation, data integration, and responsible technology adoption are increasingly important components of these developments.

Jasa Raharja has also been developing an ecosystem-based approach to public protection. In August 2026, the company discussed the transformation of the insurance ecosystem through data integration, system interoperability, and cooperation among regulators, insurers, healthcare providers, academics, and other stakeholders. The company described data as an increasingly important basis for decision-making and service improvement.

Technology is also becoming part of the company’s approach to risk management and accident prevention. At the AI Indonesia Initiative Forum 2026, Awaluddin said Jasa Raharja was exploring artificial intelligence to support faster services, identify risk patterns, and move public protection toward approaches that are increasingly predictive and preventive. He also emphasised that AI applications in public protection need to be developed in a safe, responsible, and accountable manner.

The company’s work at Indonesia’s border areas also illustrates the importance of cross-institutional coordination. In January 2026, Jasa Raharja and the National Border Management Agency signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen protection and insurance services at National Border Crossing Posts. The agreement covered governance, policy harmonisation, operational standards, and the legal basis for accident insurance services in border areas.

Such initiatives have relevance beyond individual organisations. As mobility and economic activity increasingly cross administrative and national boundaries, public-protection systems require clearer coordination between institutions. This is particularly significant in areas involving transportation, healthcare, insurance, and emergency response.

Jasa Raharja’s latest GRC recognition also reflects a longer period of organisational consistency. The company has maintained its five-star TOP GRC rating for eight consecutive years, from 2019 to 2026, while its High Performing Board of Commissioners on GRC recognition has continued for six consecutive years, from 2021 to 2026.

For ASEAN stakeholders, the development illustrates how governance frameworks can increasingly intersect with technology and public-service transformation. While institutional models differ across Southeast Asian countries, the underlying challenges—managing operational risks, strengthening accountability, protecting data, and improving service accessibility—are increasingly shared across the region.

Jasa Raharja’s experience also indicates that digital transformation requires more than technology investment. Data governance, risk management, compliance, interoperability, and organisational culture need to develop alongside digital platforms. Without these elements, faster systems may not necessarily translate into stronger public protection.

The company’s GRC journey therefore sits within a wider transformation of public-service organisations in an increasingly connected region. The combination of governance discipline, risk awareness, digital capability, and cross-sector collaboration can provide an important framework for organisations seeking to respond to changing public expectations.

With four recognitions at the TOP GRC Awards 2026, Jasa Raharja adds another milestone to its GRC journey. The next challenge remains ensuring that governance principles continue to be translated into operational practices, responsible technology use, effective risk management, and accessible services for the communities the company serves.
