Indonesian Students Shine at AWMUN X with Diplomatic Excellence

Eight Indonesian students demonstrated their global competence by earning awards at the Asia World Model United Nations (AWMUN) X held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The event, which brought together over 258 participants from more than 27 countries, provided a platform for youth to engage in high-level diplomatic simulations.

According to Muhammad Fahrizal, President of the International Global Network (IGN), the success of the Indonesian delegates proves that the country’s youth are highly capable of contributing to international forums. He praised their critical thinking and communication skills, especially in representing Indonesia with excellence.

The awards were distributed across four simulated UN councils—ILO, UNEP, UNICEF, and WHO—each presenting unique global challenges. The Indonesian team stood out with their ability to speak persuasively, negotiate effectively, and work collaboratively.

Fahrizal expressed his hope that this achievement will inspire more students to participate in global activities, helping them develop not just academically but also socially and emotionally.

As AWMUN is officially recognized by Indonesia’s National Achievement Center (Puspresnas), participants can include their awards and certificates as part of their academic portfolios for university applications.

The theme of AWMUN X, “Navigating the Future: Shaping Our Role in the 5th Industrial Revolution,” encouraged delegates to explore their role in the ever-evolving global landscape.

Among the awardees were students from top schools in Indonesia, including Spectrum International School, SMA Negeri 61 Jakarta, and SMAS Taman Rama Denpasar.
