Qatar Airways has once again secured its place at the top of global aviation, being named the World’s Best Airline 2025 by Skytrax at the Paris Air Show. This marks the ninth time the Gulf-based airline has received the prestigious honor, solidifying its reputation as an industry benchmark for service and innovation.

The award comes shortly after Qatar Airways announced a record-breaking order of 210 widebody aircraft from Boeing, including 130 Dreamliners and 30 of the 777-9 series. The move not only signals the airline’s ambitious growth strategy but also its commitment to modernizing its fleet amidst evolving passenger expectations.

“This recognition goes beyond the title—it reflects the passion and precision that drive our entire team,” said Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Group CEO of Qatar Airways. “Winning in such a competitive and fast-changing industry is a testament to the consistency and excellence delivered across our operations.”

In addition to the top award, Qatar Airways also received accolades for Best Airline in the Middle East, World’s Best Business Class, and Best Business Class Airline Lounge—underscoring its leadership across multiple service categories.

Asian carriers also maintained strong performances. Singapore Airlines ranked second, earning titles for World’s Best Cabin Crew, Best First Class, and Best Airline in Asia. Cathay Pacific claimed third place, followed by Emirates and Japan’s ANA All Nippon Airways.

The Skytrax World Airline Awards, often referred to as the “Oscars of the aviation industry,” are based on independent customer surveys involving over 22 million participants across more than 325 airlines. The 2025 ceremony welcomed around 500 airline representatives to the historic Le Bourget Airport in Paris.

Low-cost and regional airlines in the ASEAN region also saw continued recognition. Malaysia-based AirAsia was once again named the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline for the 16th consecutive year, while Bangkok Airways retained the title of World’s Best Regional Airline—highlighting the region’s resilience and growing influence in global aviation.

As the aviation industry continues to recover and evolve post-pandemic, such accolades not only reward performance but also shape the standards that passengers across Asia and beyond now expect.
