Ca Mau — On April 19, 2025, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), in coordination with the Ca Mau Provincial People’s Committee, held the groundbreaking and site handover ceremony for the expansion and upgrade of Ca Mau Airport. The project, valued at approximately VND 2,400 billion (USD 92 million), is part of nationwide infrastructure initiatives commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
The upgrade will transform Ca Mau Airport — currently a modest domestic hub with a 1,500‑meter runway — into a modern facility capable of handling larger aircraft and increased passenger volumes. The airport, built during the French colonial era, currently serves around 200,000 passengers annually, mainly through smaller aircraft such as the ATR72 and Embraer E190.
