Philippine Retailers Association Recognized at CEO Awards 2025 for Catalyzing SME Growth

June 25, 2025

Manila – The Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) has been awarded the Business Catalyst Award at the CEO Awards 2025, held by The Business Manual. This accolade highlights PRA’s exemplary commitment to fostering innovation and enabling the growth of small and medium enterprises in the Philippines—a key pillar of ASEAN’s economic resilience.

As one of three organisations honored in this category, PRA was selected for its consistent support of entrepreneurship, capacity-building, and regional competitiveness. Representing more than 400 member companies across retail, distribution, mall operations, and trade, the PRA is often referred to as the “Pulse and Voice of the Philippine Retail Industry.”

Originally known as the Chamber of Philippine Department Stores and Retailers, Inc. (CPDSRI), the association has since evolved into a dynamic force advocating for policy reforms, business education, and inclusive growth in the ASEAN retail landscape.

A central part of PRA’s mission is enhancing global competitiveness. Initiatives such as the Retail Leaders Summit and Retail Master Class equip members with modern business insights, strategic leadership tools, and regional collaboration opportunities.

The PRA also plays a critical role in employment generation through its Career Expo, linking talent with opportunities in retail—a sector considered one of the largest employers in the Philippines. This effort supports regional labor mobility and strengthens workforce development within ASEAN.

Notably, PRA also promotes industry excellence through the Outstanding Filipino Retailers (OFR) Awards, honoring innovation and achievement among national retail leaders who are shaping consumer experiences and setting standards for the broader Southeast Asian market.

Throughout its history, PRA’s contributions have been recognized with numerous honors, including the KALAKBAY Award for hosting the 6th Asian Retailers Convention and Exhibition (ARCE), and the Gold Anvil Award for its milestone publication Legends, Lives, & Legacies.

The association’s recent recognition at the CEO Awards 2025 further affirms its role not just as a national retail advocate, but as a regional collaborator driving innovation, empowerment, and economic inclusion across ASEAN.
