Jakarta – The Governor of Central Kalimantan, H. Agustiar Sabran, has been awarded in the Education Innovation category at the Pemimpin Daerah Award (PDA) 2025. The ceremony, hosted by iNews TV, took place at the Jakarta Concert Hall, iNews Tower, on Thursday, 28 August 2025.
The award was presented directly by Indonesia’s Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian. In his remarks, Agustiar expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the people of Central Kalimantan for their continued support in advancing the education sector.
“This is not my personal achievement, but the success of us all. I would like to thank Allah SWT, my family, and all the people of Central Kalimantan,” he said.
He underlined that the recognition serves as motivation to further strengthen educational programs. For Agustiar, education is the fundamental pillar for the province’s progress. “No child in Central Kalimantan should be left behind in education. We have implemented programs ranging from scholarships to school digitalization,” he added.
Agustiar also highlighted the importance of equitable access to education, including for children in remote areas. This aligns with the province’s vision of building a “Blessed and Advanced Central Kalimantan.” Alongside education, his administration has also prioritized healthcare, infrastructure, and human resource development.
The PDA committee emphasized that Agustiar was deserving of the award due to his consistent efforts in delivering progressive and inclusive educational innovation. His initiatives are seen as strategic in preparing a competitive generation for the province’s future.
The recognition not only reflects the Governor’s commitment but also serves as an acknowledgment of the collaborative effort between government and society in shaping an inclusive education system in Central Kalimantan.
